MoRNING…

This is a chance for partners to get back to nature with a visit to the outstanding Ayrlies Garden, which is listed in the top 120 gardens in the world. It combines temperate and subtropical plants, mature trees, waterfalls and sea views. A Maori cultural group will welcome guests with a traditional ceremony – quite a moving experience. After a delicious country style lunch take a guided tour of the garden, accompanied by classical music played by local high school students. For the food lover a visit to Clevedon coast and country is a must. Partners can relax and indulge in great wines and food. Sample wine at Vin Alto and Twilight Vineyards, try local chocolates, outstanding olive oils, delicious liqueurs, schnapps and more.

AfTERNooN…

Nature enthusiast or not, the next stop is bound to impress. Take a guided tour of Whitford Bird Garden, New Zealand’s most unique aviary of native and exotic plants and birds. Renowned wildlife artist, Blake Twigden, combines a love of nature and his knowledge of plant and birdlife in this spectacular environment. Experience another spectacular fusion of art and nature with a visit to Whitford’s Zen Garden. This is definitely a place to leave the business talk behind and be uplifted. Take a wander through a forest of native trees, walk on floating river rocks and admire oriental buildings.

Another option in the Clevedon coast is to play a round of golf at the world-renowned Formosa Golf Resort. Partners can travel by ferry from Auckland to Pine Harbour Marina and then by coach to the resort. Listed in the ‘Finest Golf Clubs in the World’ publication, Formosa is an international PGA standard course and was designed by Bob Charles. It covers an area of 442 acres and has a par of 72. Golfers can enjoy superb sea views while they play, eat a picnic lunch en-route and then return to Auckland by coach. Now that’s a great day out.
